I have previously argued that the Trump controversies are a sham for the theatre that distracts the American public from the political reality of their fraudulent democracy and Trump’s Jerusalem announcement is further confirmation of this interpretation.
With every fake news drama about impeachment, collusion with Russia to thwart Hilary Clinton and controversy at every Trump Tweet the agenda of the empire quietly marches forward, barely noticed. The wider world grudgingly cooperates.
With the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel the United States has now come out in the open as a long-standing accomplice of Israel in its criminal theft of the land of the people of Palestine. The treacherous, disingenuous role of the US in this scam of Israel’s ‘striving for peace with the Palestinians’ is now utterly exposed.
Modern dictators have always required only US consent before seizing land by war and as Saddam Hussein learnt in his invasion of Kuwait, even with their consent there was treachery abroad. US objection to such invasions on moral grounds has always been laughable but the now obvious collusion with Israel lays bare the reality that the only real criteria for objection is that sacred cause of “American Interests”.
Europe prefers to immerse itself in its ‘Dog’s BrExit’ as the union begins to fragment, rather than contemplate a meaningful response to this abominable collusion in an injustice that violates all those noble aspirations to a peaceful, lawfully ordered world that emerged from WW2 and have since succumbed to yet another upstart empire.
It is naturally expected that support for Israel in its crimes against International Law would come from a nation that engaged in a century of Genocide against its native Indians. But among allegedly civilised Europeans with a thousand years of 'Enlightenment', Science, Classical Philosophy and History to its credit it's truly surprising. More so, it must ride uncomfortably with their deeply entrenched convictions regarding Hitler, his invasions and his Genocide of the Jews. Israeli Jews seem to cope with the inconsistency, however. Perhaps, in a century or two, the grievances of Palestinians will, like those of Native Americans, fade out of our history, rationalised for us by the victors. Pity the people who must wait centuries to be washed clean, and must ardently apply themselves to the purpose at that.
While busy at the task of cleansing their land of people and their chosen people of moral taint, the perpetrators must also busy themselves with the task of erasing the relation between cause and effect. It has been highly amusing (if at times deplorable) to observe the machinations of Mainstream Media in these purposes. The BBC is most prominent in this art in the UK. Erasing the lines between the dots.
Already invisible is the trail, prominent at the time as it traced out, between the Bush-Blair lies and the invasion of Iraq, the millions of displaced Iraqis who, in the words of William Blum lost everything, “their homes, their schools, their electricity, their clean water, their environment, their neighborhoods, their mosques, their archaeology, their jobs, their careers, their professionals, their state-run enterprises, their physical health, their mental health, their health care, their welfare state, their women’s rights, their religious tolerance, their safety, their security, their children, their parents, their past, their present, their future, their lives … More than half the population either dead, wounded, traumatized, in prison, internally displaced, or in foreign exile … The air, soil, water, blood, and genes drenched with depleted uranium … the most awful birth defects … unexploded cluster bombs lying in wait for children to pick them up … a river of blood running alongside the Euphrates and Tigris … through a country that may never be put back together again. …”, the inexplicable, shocking emergence of a pool of thousands of fighters with a seemingly psychotic, depraved and callous thirst for blood hastening the astonishing rise of ISIS, the chain of uprisings, invasions and civil wars among Israel’s enemies, the mass exodus from the middle-east of people otherwise content to live, as most people do, in the land of their birth, the immigration crisis that overwhelmed Europe, the rise of “Populism” (AKA Democracy) and the far right, the demise of Angela Merkel and the beginning of the end of the grand plan for European Union. All are now, in the infallible mind-model of the BBC, completely random, independent events emerging from the lottery-barrel of the natural world.
A compliant, politically corrected and well-behaved public watch it all unfold like children at a fireworks display, oblivious to the choreography of the pyrotechnics.
